About us

Criskids Inc. is a company formed by foster parents to make a difference within our community.  The software that you can download from this website is designed to assist in the management of the information that we all want to keep safe for our children.

The first version of this software was created in 1998 and called C.R.I.S. (Caregiver Recording Information System).  It was created by our President, Sharyn, and available on CD.

Technology has changed, and so have we, so the new version is downloadable from this website.  We have added the ability to capture images within the software.  You can record documents, save pictures, and save lifebook items directly from the software.

Because we believe firmly in giving back to our community, for every sale that we make through this website, $10 of our revenue goes directly back to a Foster Parent Association.  Simply tell us who sent you to our site and we will forward $10 from your sale to their organization.  If you don’t tell us, then we will send the $10 to the Foster Parent Society of Ontario, our own society, and the money will be well spent.

Who we are

We are Sharyn, Andrew and Dave.  Sharyn is our President and can be reached directly at Sharyn@criskids.com.  Dave is our developer, computer guru and all around techno specialist, he is the reason we are able to do this at all.  Andrew is simply the catalyst that helps the mix to work.

Sharyn has been a foster parent for over 25 years, helped to raise over 700 children, many of whom have gone on to great success, and many of whom are bringing their own children back to visit “Grandma Sharyn”.  In addition to fostering, Sharyn has taken more courses than we could list on this website.  She has been a trainer for new foster parents and for specialist foster parents.  Sharyn has been a Foster Parent Advocate and Mentor for over 20 years.  In addition, Sharyn has been an active member of our local Foster Parent Association and been an enthusiastic and tireless advocate for fostering and for children.

Andrew and his wife have also been foster parents for over 15 years, and been involved in training and mentoring of other parents as well as the many children in their care.  Andrew’s background is in training and computer applications consulting.  (If you have a problem with the help pages, write to Andrew@criskids.com ) .
