- Chronicle Order
- Pictures pictures pictures, children grow so quickly, start the day the child moves in
- Birth Info, hospital, Date time, Doctor, relevant info on birth, mom's labour, weight,length, where possible keep newspaper clippings of the day
- Mom’s name who was present what was said how long in hospital
- Workers, info
- Welcome to foster home, which foster family who lives in the family any pictures, picture of the house where I came to
- Medical info any ongoing medical issues, Doctors name
- Visits with family members, pictures etc
- Names of people involved who loves me
- Day care, who were my friends
- Schools, teachers, report card info, extracurricular activities what I liked
- My friends, who did I play with
- Pets
- First Christmas, second Christmas, Birthdays, Significant dates or events
- Ticket stubs
- Encourage children to participate (younger children can draw pictures, write about their feelings) supplies such as stickers special pictures they like
- Try to keep track of those cute sayings children come up with
- For older children they may want to do their own life books, help them get
started make sure they have all the supplies they need
- Save all children's pictures to CD/DVD make an extra copy
- Life books are very important, this will be their memory of being with you,
continue to encourage children to participate these are their memories
- Supplies: 3 Ring binder, clear plastic loose sheet protectors excellent for
pictures, alway keep your camera close by. Throw away camera's are great for
older kids.
